It begins with a start.

I used to have a blog back in the day of tumblr. It had about 3 devoted readers and I was so proud of my artistic musings and ramblings. You are probably thinking, why another blog? Aren’t there plenty already? Honestly, I am thinking the same things but it still seems like a good idea. I hope to use this space to extrapolate on the behind the scenes workings of the studio as well as a place to reflect during each collection. Owning an arts-based business is very much a learning curve and journey so you can touch back here to see where I am at.

So what am I working on currently? (not necessarily in order)

  1. A new collection of ceramics for the Made Market in Raleigh, NC on August 10th. I am going to release some pieces here in a couple weeks hopefully.

  2. Paintings and more paintings. I have about 5 streams of thought going on right now- vintage metal rocking chairs in the backyard, dishes piled in a wire drying rack, fiddles of course, more fan palms in some nice jewel tones and big limelight hydrangeas imbedded in a modern surround. I am participating in the first ever Loyola Art Show in Mobile Alabama, August 22-24th.

  3. Building frames and musing on the business workings of the business. Like, does working with a couple galleries make sense for me?

  4. Ordering new prints. I have been saying that I was going to do this for at least 6 months but I have actually prepped the files at this point. I am hoping to have new prints and products ready to go by Arts in the Heart of Augusta in September.

So there it is my first blog post in almost 10 years! Thank you for reading!
